One spring carrot, please!

O gosh, it just couldn't happen without troubles. The pattern and size along with the yarn seemed to be pleasant and quick to knit. Unfortunatelly, this neck-wrap has strained my patience.
I've assumed this is going to be the beading learning project. So, I was prepared for some difficulties. Somewhere around the fifth row of a pattern with beads it started to get much easier.Good.

But working over this project has pointed out what is absolutely forbidden if you wish to stay sane:
-you cannot delay knitting after few minutes, then come back, start again, and do another break - you'll mess the rows for sure and break the regularity of the pattern;
- same ; you 'll mess counting the stiches and have to unravel a part what is a nightmare when you work on round needles;
-you shouldn't clean kids noses meanwhile - the stiches which you are about to loose - you'll loose for sure;
-you cannot put the knitting stuff on the sofa when husband is somewhere close - even when you think it is safe - he is going to sit on your work for sure - you'll loose another stiches
-you shouldn't link all those mentioned subsections - it is not the way you care for youre love to knit.

I've used 120g of Diament yarn (80% angora, 20% acrylic)
Needles size 3,5 mm
This concluded in project sized 25 cm x 230 cm in round

Diament yarn is very pliable and quite soft.
I love this carrot-like colour. To enhance its energy I've added TOHO beads round size 8, silver-lined burned orange - ca. 20g.

"Something pretty" done

Just like I said - the project is ready before the weekend...but not the one I've planned ;))

It's absolutely out of control when the child doesn't sleep few nights in a row, the other one is supposed to learn by heart some rhymes, then both start coughing and one day you find out it's Thursday...but the next week.

It is a light set of neck warmer and fingerless mitens. I've used 5 needles to kneet the mitens but the border is a made of row of double crochets pointed by picots.

I wanted to make the set more elegant than my casual style since it is for my mom and I've decided some goldish buttons would help.
My first notion was to put buttons with dark glass center and gold petals-like rounding. Couldn't find such ones.Typicall.
Then, I've found those ones. I think they fit very well, don't they?

Have a nice weekend to all of you !

Himalaya Padisah Lover ;)

This is third neck warmer knitted with Himalaya Padisah.
It is a mix of 30% wool and 70% poliacrylic.

I'm big fan of that yarn for such projects.
It's not enough soft to wear close to my skin but having it around top of my neck and partly the face -it's good .

The projects are warm, the pattern is noticeable, the knitwear beautifuly falls into the place. It is pliable, doesn't creak while knitting and the colors quaintly blend together.

For a neck warmer I've used two 100g/180m balls.
Needles size 6.

This set of colors is a 2013 novelty.

While knitting you can find the pink of raspberry, the orange of summer sunset, the green of Granny Smith Apple, the yellow of mustard  and the violet of sweet plum.Even the blue has two tonations - the blue of forget-me-not and cornflower.

Simply...awesome.

PS
I've waited about a week for a good light to take those pictures but day by day clouds were covering the sky. Today I've moved all the phalenopsises from the window, put the curtains aside, moved other furniture in the room to get the manequin close to natural light.
Hope it was worth it :)

Let's warm the neck...along with the rest :)

Last Wednesday I got the yarn I've ordered.
It took me quite long to find something soft, warm, colorful and not pilling yet not woolish. Impossible??
No!! :))))
Himalaya promises it all.

I had to knit a set for my son. That's why the wishlist was so strict. We already had this black jacket so I wanted to put some life into his outfit. Especially since clothes for toddlers are more vivid but the older the kid gets the more gloomy the clothes are.
My preschooler is full of energy so I thought this set of colors will be just great.
And I was right - when he saw the yarn he couldn't wait to have it done.
Well, I was anxious too ;)

To my surprise it appeared to be very comfortable to work with. Fuzzy, cozy, soft...delightful.
I used whole 100g ball (250m) to knit a neck warmer with needles  size 4.5
For the bobble I had to broach another one ball.

I wonder if it really can handle whole season staying so perfect ;)

From the other hand - I have a set for my toddler daughter.
I've knitted it last autumn and since it was too loose it fits good this time as well.
To knit a beanie and a neck warmer I've used almost two 50g balls of Bergere de France Barisienne, color Titane .
It's acrylic and despite it's fine to work with it pills. It's a pity.
As I remember well I used needles size 4.5 and 3.5 for beanie.
